  • TUPE and private health insurance

    Hi

    Story so far,

I worked for Company A for 4 years and had private health insurance, Company B are honouring that, all good.

However, I was able to add my wife to the cover with Company A for £26 per month
Company B now want £65 per month for the same cover, the say that this cover was non contractual (it was not mentioned in the contract), and that due to location and number of staff insured the discount offered by the Helath providers is not a good so I have to pay extra.
    Where do I stand please?

    Regards

    PhilR

From your employers viewpoint they are acting appropriately and have not breached any contract.

The agreement is between you and the health insurance provider. The change of provider offered by your employer, and the providers specifics, still constitutes cover but the discount for additional policy holders is something between you and the policy provider.
