  • Welcome finance / Lowell

    Hi,

I need to understand where I stand with an o/s loan to Welcome.

The debt doesn't appear on any of my Equifax, Experian or Callcredit files.

I understand Welcome are no longer trading, so I have no means of contacting them to ask about the debt.

However, i'm been chased by Lowell for the balance.

    What can I do?

    Thanks in advance

welcome are trading , the are just no longer lending . What i happening is that they are collecting their book to pay the creditors and closing offices ,as the leases expire. this is their contact website http://www.wfs.co.uk/contact-us . Many branches have closed and the rest will close in due course .

What sort of loan is this? Was it secured or unsecured? If you are being chased by Lowell, that means the debt has been sold to them and Welcome are no longer involved, trading or not.

What's the status of this loan? Are you making any payments? If not, when did you last pay? When did you default on the loan? If it's not on your credit files, it could be because it was defaulted over 6 years ago. If no payments have been made since then, it would be statute barred, however, if payments were made, it wouldn't.
