Yes and I only noticed that recently.

Several Beagles' members have complained to Ultimate about their questionable relationship with Client Connection/Redhawk, not least because Ultimate were chasing clients they shared with Client Connection to pay Client Connection's bills. In other words Ultimate were acting as a debt collector for one of their clients to another.

As I'm sure you know there are strict rules (both MOJ and SRA) that forbid referrals to solicitors that were sourced from cold calls from CMCs.

In one of the responses (attached) Lipszyc claims that they were not ''technically'' cold calls (despite Mr Justice Norris referring to them as such in his judgment, as well as being ''unsolicited'' and ''unprompted''). As far as she was ''aware'' all the calls were made to existing customers of Client Connection which is difficult to imagine they had that many when the judgment states that ''In its Defence Client Connection Ltd pleaded [no doubt by Lipszyc herself] that it had in fact made 500,000 telephone calls'' in one sales campaign alone.

It made my day also, shame they could not have jailed more of them.

Whilst they are jail lets hope they are not planning their next scam.

Anyone know how much money these guys have made?

The interesting bit is whether there are any decent assets to go after with confiscation.

CJ in this country is pitiful when it comes to fraud and sentences are no deterrent. The main men will be out in two years and if they have been clever with their ill gotten gains they'll be laughing their socks off.

Crime does pay when it come to fraud. Low risk high gain. Who needs to rob banks or supply drugs!

Directors and staff at a Swansea call centre first exposed by X-Ray have been jailed for 22 years at Swansea Crown Court.

Summing up the judge praised the programme for highlighting the fraud committed by a network of businesses.

X-Ray began investigating a company known as Aurora Logistics in 2011 when it received complaints from viewers who had been charged around £80 for bogus Sky TV warranties. As complaints flooded in and X-Ray ran follow up stories, Trading Standards raided their offices.

Company directors shredded computer hard drives and tried to remotely delete computer records.

But Trading Standards officers managed to recover around 100,000 calls in which call handlers ruthlessly exploited vulnerable and elderly customers.

They also found calls in which one company director, Paul Delamare, told an aide how the company was feeling a "load of heat".

He added: "I've had another email from X-Ray today. They are not going to go away."

The case turned into one of the biggest Trading Standards investigations ever in Wales.

Eight of the leading figures in the organisation were jailed for up to four years each.

But the case broke new ground with the prosecution of ordinary call handlers. Six of them got suspended jail sentences. Trading standards took the highly unusual decision to prosecute them as well because of the shocking nature of the calls they’d made.

Rhys Harries, from Swansea Trading Standards, said: “We listened to hundreds and hundreds of calls and yes some of them were quite upsetting for our officers.

We felt that obviously those making the sales, those sales staff were as culpable in some instances as the directors who were running the company.”

And quite right, too. Employees who play an active part in unlawful or illegal activity are equally culpable as the perpetrators. Let's hope this case sends out a message to other rogue businesses that the heat is being turned up under them.

Guess this is the John Stockting 'unregistered' speaks of ->
Jonathan Stockting, 51, of Northway Court, Bishopston, Swansea, said to be the “business brains” of the operation was given four years.

Presumably time is served now if he was given 4 in Feb 2014.
