  • recent redundancy

Hi as the title suggests I have just been unfortunatly made redundant after 16 years service my question is a simple one. My role was Maintenance Manager but if my role was simply given a differant name say maintenance team leader would that breach the rules.

    Hi and welcome!

Would you care to give us a few more details?

Are you saying they made your role redundant, then they hired someone else to do the same job but calling it Maintenance Team Leader?

        Hi Robby

Is this a "new" role identical to yours or is it an existing employee doubling up (ie incorporating your "redundant" role into their existing, differently titled, role)?

Have you been in touch with ACAS or your Union?

          Hi
Its early days yet but I imagine it would be my role ie the day to day running of the maintenance department at that site. The guy involved will simply be told to report to the site and take up my duties ie run the maintenance plant his title would be Maintenance team leader
