    Attached in three parts.

    Key findings

    1. The average debt of a StepChange client in
    Scotland fell to £13,939 by June 2013. This was
    the lowest in the UK, which had an average client
    debt of £15,047.

    2. The average net income of a StepChange client
    in Scotland increased slightly to £14,532 by June
    2013. Average net incomes fell in every other
    nation over the same period, with a UK average of
    £14,457.

    3. In 2012 clients in Scotland had almost twice the UK
    average value in Council Tax arrears, at £1,312.

    4. Over 10 percent of client debt in Scotland last
    year was due to payday loans – the largest share
    among the home nations.

    5. StepChange has seen a significant increase in
    the number of clients with arrears in priority debts
    including rent, mortgage, gas, electricity and
    Council Tax.
