Please can anyone advise hope I'm in the right place only just joined this site .My dear husband passed away in June this year. After the funeral when I was sorting through paperwork I found out that he owes a large amount of money to the Department for work and Pensions.I received a letter this week from them saying the debt needs to be paid by the 1.11.2013 I'm at my wits end as it's a lot of money and as I knew nothing about it till after he passed away do I have to repay this debt .thank you.

    Hi Jenny,

Have a look in http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...of-life-issues forum - I'll move your post down there to get some assistance. There are a number of threads regarding similar issues with the DWP in there too.

What is the DWP 'debt' for ? do you know? If it is Pension Credit have a look at this thread http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...it-overpayment

    Welcome to LB
