  • Sainsburys Bank credit card administered by Bank of Scotland.

Hi. Hope someone can offer some advice. My husband made PPI complaint to Halifax BOS re credit card. He is self employed and realised the policy would not pay out if unemployed. He was however involved in a serious accident some 6 years ago and did successfully claim on sickness grounds. The credit card is now working with debt management plan and he with fully makes monthly payments. Think the amount now owing is around£700/800.
Today he has received a tester telling him his claim is uph eld however there is no monies due as payments previously claimed are in excess of monies due in redress.
Still the claim was upheld and that in itself s a result.
My query however is--- last Monday he had his monthly cheque from the debt recovery company returned stating that his account as now been written off ! Any ideas please??
    Thanks

Well, the account may well have been written off or, charged off. But, the firm are still responsible if, the PPI was mis-sold!

Thanks for that. The monies claimed under policy for sickness were £3040. The total premiums on Ppi paid since card taken out plus interest are reconstructed at £3010. This is because we no longer have statements to clarify. My query is Hbos have not stated that the account is now written off. They just said claim upheld but no monies now due as previously stated. Just collections ppl returned monthly payment stating account now written off. Have you any experience of this ever being the case with other banks etc?
