  • Dvla court summons - failure to notify change of ownership.

    Hello

I am a newbie but in desperate need of help

I had a car repossessed back in Feb 2013, when they bailiffs or agents came to take the car, they were rude, snatched the paperwork and keys and i asked do they inform DVLA and they said yes and left.

About a month or two later i recvd a letter from DVLA asking about the car....i replied and said the car had been repossessed in Feb and that they said they were going to inform them but seems they never did!!

I then recvd a letter from DVLA saying they were fining me for not letting them know....i responded and said i didnt have the documents to let them know and as far as i was concerned they had been informed so i refused to pay.

Today i have recvd a letter saying i am to go to court - a requistion - on 30th September where i will be fined £1000 for not notifying them....any correspondence i have ever sent i have never recvd a reply.

I dont know what to do, i dont have the money to pay a big fine and dont feel i should have to as i did notify them when i was told they had recvd nothing :tinysmile_cry_t:

Im worried now but also angry as they feel they can do this to people

    Please help
