  • Employer not paid wages

Hi, I'm looking for some advice for my daughter. She is currently in her 2nd year of a Nursery Nurse Apprenticeship and has had ongoing problems with her wages.

She is term time and finished on the 24th June until later this month. She was due 3 weeks pay for June which should have been paid on 20th July. She has had no money from them and has sent several text messages both to the owner and her manager and had no reply from either of them. She has also tried to phone but never gets an answer.

This has been happening almost every month since she started and in December she got no wage until the 7th January which left her with no money over christmas. Several times she has had to tell them she can't come to work as she has no money and then they pay her so she will go to work but as she's not working during the summer she can't use this to make them pay her. She has also only received about 4 pay slips in the 21 months she has been there even though she has asked for them.

She lives in a flat with her boyfriend and is worrying about her upcoming rent and council tax payments which are due very soon and has told the owner this in her texts but she still hasn't replied to her.

They are selling the Nursery this month and have recently moved their head office and nobody seems to know the address of it. I hope someone can give us some advice as to what to do next. This is in Scotland, I know the laws might be different.

    Thanks
