  • LTSB personal loan claim

    Good evening.

Seven weeks ago I sent off claims forms in relation to PPI mis-sold on three personal loans.

Today I receive a phone call stating that they can not complete the investigation until I go into the my local branch of LTSB and update the address on the loan agreement numbers.

I have moved since then but they are investigating my credit card with them too and I lived at a different address at that point and I was not instructed to go into a branch to amend that address. I am awaiting the decision for my credit card claim.

He did emphasize that next week is eight weeks and encouraged me to go in to branch as soon as possible and to call him back once I had.

Is this a stalling technique or is this encouraging?

    Many thanks.

    Re: LTSB personal loan claim

    Hiya
I have not heard of that one before, unless they have a different team/section dealing with loan ppi to credit card ppi.

I would call into the bank, give them the details they need and if they ask questions in regards of the ppi, just say that you are only prepared to deal with the actual complaint in writing only.

And another thing too, if you have his name, email him back and copy it to the CEO, just to confirm you have dealt with the matter of address matters at the bank and you wish him to confirm receipt of your email ;-)

      Re: LTSB personal loan claim

I will pop into a branch on my lunch break tomorrow.
He said as soon as I did it I should call him back and he will update my claim.

He seemed aware my 8 weeks would be up next week and wanted to ensure it was dealt with in that time frame.

Shame he took so long to contact me in the first place!

I think it can only be encouraging. If he was to throw my case straight out surely he would not be bothering with all this.

I will get his name tomorrow and let you know what happens.

      Thanks Di

        Re: LTSB personal loan claim

I popped into the bank yesterday & let them know I did as they asked.
        Now to wait.

One more thing if you could help me Di.

I had three loans, which I took out and each time one paid the other off aswell as putting an extra little bit of cash in my pocket.

I read somewhere that some companies when settling an account, use the PPI as rebate or something.
        - Is this common with LTSB?

        Thanks for your help.

          Good one ;-)

If you've had a number of loans with the same bank, also for example to pay one off with the other, they do usually rebate the ppi by bringing down the balance, not that it actually went back into your pocket. You can of course make a reclaim of what you paid of the PPI minus any rebate.
I believe this is how Lloyds used to do this.

So if you've not made a reclaiming complaint on the others yet, and you have reason to believe they were also mis sold, ask them to review them as well with your reasons. They should automatically be doing that, as recommended by the FSA, but sometimes you just need to raise this up yourself, and it will be quicker as well.

Hope this makes sense. The best of luck with all. ;-)

Did they write to acknowledge receipt of the claim? I realise that they have contacted you with regards to ID but am concerned that they might state that the 8 weeks did not commence because they had not identified your properly until you went into the branch. If they have written to you then that 8 weeks commences from that point.
