  • Text message received on my mobile

I have never seen this type of message before but perhaps my more learned Beagles would know how this works.

I received a text and it said "you have been sent this message by +77448138033 who has asked that you call them back" how do you even send a message with that instruction?

Have checked my contacts and this number is not a known number to me at all.

How dare anyone ask me to call them back if they knew me why would they not say who they are?

So this is a suspect scam text and bet it is one of these CMC's to tell me that I have money due to me lol.

For your information I did not all them back as once I would call them I would get bombarded with unsolicited calls no doubt.

Hi there. I personally register my numbers with the Telephone Preference Society (TPS) but unfortunately this only seems to cover companies who sign up themselves to prevent 'customer's receiving unsolicited comms, and it most certainly doesn't protect me from companies calling from overseas.

From a simple web search the +77 number is of Eastern European or Asian origin, possibly Russia.

You already know yourself that replying is no no. There are schemes like this where you are dialled into a premium rate number at very, and I mean VERY expensive rates, sometimes running into hundreds of pounds.
