    my former employer won't give me my paye ref number and i can't find
    a wage slip although i remember them being a small brown envelope with just my deductions and not much else is there a way to get this I have contacted him on his telephone and mobile and to ask the company that bought the workload off him and he has not informed the hmRC or me with the number so can't claim for a tax refund as the code was wrong when i started my new job help urgently needed please

    Mrkakaka,

    You need to speak to HMRC asap. Contrary to common belief, they are very helpful in situations like this. You should have been given a P60 recently which gives details of the tax, etc., you have paid between 6 April 2011 and 5 April 2012.

      i will have to contact them as i can't as yet find the p60 athough i am not sure if it it will give me the ref number as i didn't start working after a year unemployed in july 2010 then got me new job in Nov 2011 thanks for quick reply.
