  • SAR to the halifax

    Hi Does any body know if there is a time limited that the bank have to respond to the SAR request that i am sending to my partners bank.

    Yes The data protection act states that they have 40 days to respond, however I may add that many only just do that and not fully comply with supplying the data within 40days.

    If that will be the ase you would have to send another letter informing them that there time limit as per the DPA ACT is running out.

    I would send the SAR via special delivery or at least recorded delivery and get that all important postal receipt and track and trace number.

    Furthermore remember to enclose the statutory £10 search fee this can be a postal order if you do not wish to give your bank details on a chq.

    think that has covered it all
