  • 2 years' car service - not honoured.

    Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can help me with this. I bought a car from Machargs, and paid for 2 years' of Arnold Clark servicing. (Machargs and Arnold Clark appear to be part of the same organisation, or they overlap.) I had an accident in the first year and it got written off, and now Machargs are saying they won't refund the money or let me transfer the service plan to my new car (which I bought from them too).

Surely that can't be legal? You can't just take someone's money and provide no product or service. It cost me a few hundred pounds.

If anyone can advise me what the law is on this, I'd be grateful.

    Cheers,
    John

What does it state about the servicing in the contract agreement?
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
