Scam Alert - Registering with the TPS

I've just received a call from "BT" offering to register me with the Telephone Preference Service.

After being told that this would stop all unwanted sales calls, the caller then proceeded to tell me that if any calls that did get through all I had to do was advise BT and £50.00 would be deducted from my bill :tinysmile_aha_t:.

All this for a payment of £9.99.

Hmm a sales call offering to stop all sales calls? Think I'll pass.

It does sound like another scam.

BT have been trying to get hold of Mr T, when I answer they always ask if I can talk on his behalf. I bet anything this is what they are selling as we are not with BT for our telephones.

I bet also they call from an untraceable number.

It also posses another promlem if they are not BT - who are they and how did they get your name and number expecially if you are x directory(as we are)
