  • barclays hardship letter/ barclaycard Missold PPI

I recieved a letter from barclays bank today and they have accepted my claim of financial difficulty, i'm assuming that this means financial hardship anyway they have paid £67.50 into my account and said that the matter is now close, they go on to say that I will have to wait for the test case to be concluded before I can claim any charges back from them. Can anyone tell me what to do next as I'm of the understanding that I dont have to wait if I'm in financial difficulty/hardship. I have ordered a full list of charges from them already but have not received them yet.

I also recieved a letter from Barclaycard today regarding my claim for missold PPI they said that they will look into it and have enclosed a questionaire about my circumstances dating back to 2002 when I first got the card, I think they have a cheek asking me these questions 7 yrs after the event, do I have to fill out the questionaire for them to repay my PPI?

You haven't waited, they have paid £67.50 into your account. Being in hardship does not mean you will get a full refund of charges, it means you will get a proportion of the charges returned in order to pay your primary debts.

If you do not have a full list of charges applied to your account, then how can you know if £67.50 is paltry or generous?

Barclaycard won't know if you've been missold PPI unless they know your circumstances at the time. For example if you were self employed and the policy excludes the self employed.

Barclaycard are doing the right thing so complete and send the form back. You have no hope of a refund unless you do.
