    Child Benefit Rates increase today(5th January 2009)


    Eldest Child increase from £18.80 to £20.00
    Additional Children (per child) increase from £12.55 to £13.20

    From 6th April 2009

    Guardians Allowance(per child) increase from £13.45 to £14 10

      Darn it.Have been planning what I'd spend the extra £1.20 a week on, then I remembered that child benefit is taken into consideration when calculating Income Support, so we'll be no better off. :rant:

          Any increases will be included from your next payment date.

            Its just I got my child benefit today old rate so ,I assume it will go up in 4 weeks time.

              Mine increased this week, but my payments are made weekly.

              As you receive yours every 4 weeks, your next payment should include 4 weeks worth of the increase.
