  • Sir Fred "the shred" Goodwin-- Nattie's suck up message

I wanted to say good luck to my big big boss Sir Fred Goodwin. I have to say that the internal things that we saw within the branch was very positive and he was a man determind to look at a problem and if it wasn't working, to tear it up and start over again.
I have the highest respect for him from an employee of the RBS Group.

Ultimately, he will be judged over his failure to prevent government intervention in spite of the £12 billion injection at the beginning of the year from shareholders and paying what some would call "over the top" price for ABN AMRO. He quite rightly resigned today.

I was unaware that this was post 100.

I think he was the one who helped in Jesters case on here?

So maybe it was others at the top who have dragged him down.

He may well have known about it although I would not know that he would know about that.

I just went through the contacts on the sticky and rang Mary McCallum Personal Assistant to Sir Fred Goodwin who put me through to Michael Duncan (0131 5235317) who said he will look in to it and call me back before midday. Fingers crossed!!"

From jesters very long thread. The re-possesion order was subsequently lifted

Here is the fuller facts on the CEO. Sir Fred Goodwin will officially leave RBS Group on January 31st 2009. The new CEO will leave his current Director's job on November 21st 2008 to replace Sir Fred Goodwin. There has been some other significant changes which I will report on as and when I am able to.
As this is kinda private then I will be able to reveal a rumour, unsubstantiated, that RBS Group were close to going under a few weeks ago and had HMT not put money into the system, I would be an ex-natweststaffmember!!
