I had my voluntary interview 12/6/17 and was told by my solicitor that I would expect either having to go to a police station or a summons. He said it usually takes 6-8 weeks but sometimes a bit longer. It’s now 15/1/18 and I’ve not heard from my solicitor or the police. It’s been 33 weeks. Is this normal. I’ve been waiting every day fir that dreaded letter it’s making me bad.
Sorry to be an idiot and I deserve this not knowing as I did what I did. I just want closure.
    Thankyou

        Hello Chazz,

Of course you can phone the solicitor you are entitled to know what is happening (if anything).

Were the police actually investigating the alleged theft? It is possible depending on exactly what you did and what was stolen that this has been shelved for one reason or another.

Did you manage to get the money together that you had taken ? Could you maybe get in touch (via the solicitor) with one of the deceased family members and give them the money ( to go into the estate ?) and apologise to them (in writing).

Yes I got most of it. Should I contact my solicitor again?

I would, to find out what, if anything is happening with the admission you made to the Police, and if they have any thoughts about your desire to make amends.
