  • Restraint Order

Hope someone can help with this.

My friend has had a restraint order which has now been ordered removed by the judge. How long does this take to be removed off the Land Registry and deeds?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Restraint Order

    Hi,
Not sure I'm understanding you. A restraining order is not something that would appear on HM Land Registry title information.
A restriction however would and prevents a property being transferred without the person who the restriction is in favour of, being involved. I suspect this is what you mean? If so then an application will need to be made to HMLR to have the restriction removed. Afraid I'm not sure what their time scales are currently for removing restrictions but you could call them and ask, if this is what you mean. Here's there website where you'll find further details:- https://www.gov.uk/government/organi.../land-registry

You will probably also need a copy of the Order from the Court to get the restriction removed. It can take some time to receive the Order from the Court and I doubt the time of year is going to help I'm afraid.

Apologies if this isn't what you meant at all. If that's the case then we'll need some further information from you in order to try and point you in the right direction.

Thank you for your reply, I've sent it to my friend, as I'm not too sure.
