  • Coroners Medical Negligence Hearing Advice Needed

    Hi,

I wonder if somebody can help me with advice regarding a coroners medical negligence hearing.

The background behind the case is that my gran was in for a routine op, this went wrong and my gran passed away. There are many concerns regarding her death that were raised to the coroners and as such the coroners have launched an inquest into the cause of death.

The hearing is due to take place in March and my mum has spoken to a number of solicitors who are trying to get my mum to agree to paying thousands for representation.

My understanding is that the coroners investigate the evidence and present them in the hearing, so any help regarding how much representation is needed etc. Is much appreciated, im not sure whether the solicitors are acting on their own interest to make money off us or not.

    Thanks in advance,

    Warren
