    I am afraid I take anything the GC says with a pinch of salt- the revenue generated for the exchequer is enormous

    I realise this is a few years old but after the British Gambling Prevalence survey of 2010 there was only one person consulted who queried the rise in problem gamblers. Ironically he ran high end casinos but his father started the Showboat empire if high street arcades based in Loughborough and he was at one time their MD

    It is shocking how little notice the government takes of problems such as alcohol and gambling . There have not even published figures showing the numbers of problem gamblers in England since 2012 and then it was 0.5% - an awful lot of people directly and even more indirectly impacted by gambling.
