I'm new to the site and would like some advise if possible.
My ex-girlfriends father gave us £1250 for legal fees to help get my name off an old mortgage because we were at the time looking to buy a house ourselves, nothing was signed, as far as I knew it was a gift, and the only record is 2 bank transfers in April/May 2017.
I'm now being harassed/chased by the ex-girlfriends father to pay him back.
He has sent 3 emails ( 2 personal and 1 to my work email) I haven't opened the emails or the attached document, he sent a letter with his wife(who assaulted me, so I called the police, which is on record) October 2017 to the house I shared with his daughter, didn't open the sealed envelope. Today there was a recorded delivery letter received at my work which was signed for by security. I refused to take it, Security is returning to sender.
Where do I stand?
