  • Dialysis and kidney transplant

    Hi

i work at a bank in London. I recently made them aware that my health has declined to the point where I am about to start dialysis ahead of a kidney transplant.

Unfort there is no sickness insurance and it probably wouldn’t cover life long conditions if there was. The private health care won’t cover also. But the nhs have been excellent so far.

I believe they might be looking into letting me go as I will be out for 2months recovering from the op. And all the time pre op for dialysis.

Where do I stand in terms of payout if the ask me to leave. When I started I signed a cash retainer which means if I leave within 3 years I have to pay a portion back. I am around 10months in.

With this in mind can I assume I would expect 2 years salary?

if they don’t offer a package beyond my standard gardening leave. Can I take them to court? If so what multiple of salary should I go for?

    many thanks in advance.
