No No, your comment was very helpful. I think I will do the same and send mine via email as I don't think I have any other way.

What email address did you send your defence to?

    Thanks

    [email protected]

You will need to send as an attachment in the proper format, complete with a signed statement of truth.

Put '[Claimant's name] v [you] Claim no XXXXXXXX - Defence' in email subject box

Visit this page and follow the instructions. It's very straight forward and can be emailed back to them.

    Hi Pipsy

Have you sent a copy of your DQ to CEL?
If not, do so & get proof of posting. (A free certificate of posting from the post Office will be ok.)

DQ is a Directions Questionnaire (Form N180)

Quick recap on this last bit.
You received a DQ (form N180) from the court.
You've completed & returned it to the court.
You have (or will) send a copy of it to the Claimant.
You have sent a SAR (request for info re data searches) to the DVLA.

    Is that all correct?

    Good.

Usually the next steps are a notice of allocation from the court, allocating the claim to Small Claims Track & giving directions on swapping evidence with the Claimant. We would suggest that you do a Witness Statement (basically just a timeline of events).
    Example WS.... http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...ness-Statement
You may also be contacted by Small Claims Mediation Service, even though this type of case isn't usually suitable for mediation.
