• Starstruck!

Just a bit of fun really!

As you know, I used to work in call centres and I have often been asked "Have you every spoken to anyone famous?"

So I decided to give you something to laugh at and tell you of a couple of times I have been starstruck, and invite you to share yours!

The first time I have ever been starstruck was on Paddington Station, I was working at the Information Desk giving out tickets and this particularly rude "gentleman" took offence to me asking him to wait his turn. I was just about to serve two gentlemen in jeans and t-shirts.. he possibly thought his suit made him more important!

He told me basically my only good parts were in my bra, which was also the location of my brain, the shaven headed gentleman in the jeans looked at him and said "Look, pal, I suggest you toddle off pronto before I lose my rag!"

Mr Suit then hurled a few homophobic insults at him, to which Mr Longer Haired demin guy raised an eyebrow and said, and I quote "Look here BUSTER, I'm RIK F***** MAYALL, if she wanted to hear from an a**hole, she'd fart!"

I have never laughed so hard in all my life and Mr Suit ran!

Time 2: I was working in the call centre and I got a call with a voice saying "Please hold for HRH Prince Andrew."
My answer was of course "Oh sod off Greg!" and I put the phone down!
It actually WAS Prince Andrew!!

Time 3: (my personal favourite) I took a call from a lovely Geordie gentleman who said he had lost his phone and could I bar it please. I at once agreed and asked his name.
Mark. Knopler.
I swear to God I nearly fainted with excitement. I talked him through barring the phone, sent a new SIM card and told him how to activate it.. blah blah blah.. then after he put the phone down I screamed "CHLOE CHLOE!! That was MARK KNOPLER!"

Her response?

"Who?"

Your turns!
PLEASE NOTE: I work irregular hours including nights and sleep in shifts. If I have not responded in 48 hours, please ask an admin to Messenger me!

When i young i worked voluntarily for youth clubs uk for many years. about 20 of us completed a scheme they run for a few years, and got invited to the 80th birthday celebrations and meal in london ( 1991 i think ) , i think it was kensington palace but not sure, there was all artwork and armor on the walls, Queen mum was the patron, so she was there, we all had to stand at the side whilst she walked through each room.

Everyone else there ( about 100 ) was famous or royal. We ( normals ) got split around there tables. I sat with Dannii minogue Floella benjamin ( fit bird from playschool ) paul daniels and debbie mcgee, great night, all very nice people..

Round were i live you see Roy Chubby brown ( roy Vassey ) quite often in B%Q he live just out of town.
Guy Martin as well ( biker and tv dude )

Me and some mad railway mates did a 10k rib for spina bifida and a bloke in front went CLUMP on his ankle. My mate Jim is a former Royal Marine so hoicked blokeydude over his shoulder to the finish line.

It was then he was politely informed he had just manhandled Chris Waddle

Re: Starstruck!

is that the same bloke? I hate footbal tbh. I knew that Hoddle and Waddle made those God awful Christmas songs!

Ok this is the one Kati is waiting for.

The day Callie fouled up TOTALLY!!

As you may or may not know, I grew up in North London and not a million miles away from Hampstead Heath. In fact we regularly went over the Heath to walk the dogs. My best friend lived in a smart little row of terraced houses opposite the tennis courts.. now before we go any further, they were council houses and she is not worth a fortune lmao.

Anyhow to cut a long story short, I had a rather nasty accident involving an Irish Dance performance, my own stupidity and the majority of the ligaments and tendons in my right leg. I was on crutches for nearly 11 weeks. In an effort to cheer me up, Chloe invited me round for a change of scenery and in my infinate wisdom I decided to go by bus- you know this isn't going to be good already don't you. I shoved my walkman on, my trusted Wham cassette playing and my George Michael one in my pocket (yes I AM that sad, I own Wham cds).

I get to the Heath and the driver is running late, so he is yelling at me to hurry up. I am on crutches, on a bus where the floor doesn't lower! A voice went "Oi! Give the poor love a chance! Can you not see she's having issues.. Here gimme those sticks, now... hold on tight!"

I flew! In a standing position! I was lifted off the bus and landed with both crutches on my Knight In Shining Armours foot. He was gracious enough to say "Don't worry I have another!"

I was then escorted across the road and to my Chloe's door. Once I was in she giggled "Was George nice then?"

"George who?"

"Michael! He walks his dogs on the Heath.... didn't you know??"

I have been a George Michael fan since I was 8 and didn't recognise him!!!!

Re: Starstruck!

I used to live in Manchester close to Man United's second training ground that not many know about, I have met Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham etc. I actually have a signed Man United programs with Cantona, Giggs, Beckham and Brian Kidds signatures in... someone will pay me a tidy sum for that one day. I also walked past Alex Ferguson without knowing who he was outside old trafford.

I met the band the darkness when I worked on the railway and also Frank Carson. Roy Walker has asked me for directions to Granada Studios in Manchester.

Been in bars in Manchester with cast members Corrie, Hollyoaks and the likes.

Re: Starstruck!

My sister, best friend and I went to Manchester for Gay Pride, and we were standing looking at all the floats and looking out for friends and colleuges who were taking part in it.

There was this big crowd taking photos of this one particular float with "ROVERS RETURN!" written all over it! There were people dressed as fairy tale characters all over it, so Muggins here too some photos but couldn't understand the fuss. I turned to my Corrie loving sister and bestie and asked "Are they the cast then??"

"Yes, we are!" came a lovely voice, which turned out to Kym Marsh (??)

Yes, she heard me!!

If Kati or someone will talk me through how to add photos again I will shove a few on here of them,.. Oh and I fell over Jeremy Kyle who was opening it. He was actually very nice about it but again I had to ask who the bloke with the mic was!
