• Employee screening RLP

Hi all. My daughter has been involved in an incident with a retailer and RLP. We have received a letter and next day we paid the fine and the case has not been taken or sent to County Court or shared with any other credit reference agency or similar.
My daughter however is during her employment screening and she worries that maybe this can be tracked.
Can we have your view please?

thank you

Hi and welcome
If the police were not involved, there will be no record of this incident.

Must say it is a pity you paid RLP.
It was not a fine, it was an unwarranted demand for money for which there is no legal justification.

Thank you for your reply. However, how can you be so sure? The tracking doesnt depend on the company that does the screening? may they have access in databases that we dont know.
Cant this be tracked through out postcode or name?

If you discover this incident is recorded on a database which is then released to third parties, you could have a field day!
It will not be .

We called RLP and they said that they dont share the incidents with 3rd parties or credit score checking agencies. However as we are very concerned, this could be tracked through our bank account right?
please note though that she is not under a credit check.
can you please advise what other concequenses regarding the job screening can my daughter have because of this?

It will have no consequences at all, assuming the police were not involved.

How can an incident involving your daughter be traced because you paid an unwarranted demand to a company who set themselves up as some sort of independent legal system.?
Your bank will not release information about your payments to any third party, and how could that payment be connected to your daughter anyway?

RLP are successful simply because they prey on the vulnerable by using scare tactics.
Altho' you paid their demand the fallout is still disturbing you.
Don't let it... there is nothing to worry about.

Thank you again! So the police was not involved which is very positive as you say. However are we sure that the employee screening agencies cannot track our data/incidents through postcode or name? Her NIN has not been shared.

If she was under a credit check, she would have an issue as the employee screening agency would have the authority to check the bank transactions (if I am right) and see the RLP transaction and make questions. Hopefully, she is not under credit check.

however are you 100% sure that this cannot be traced through a CRB, financial or criminal record screening?

thank you again!

I agree with des8 ... You are worrying unnecessarily!! There is no way that a payment to rlp will be disclosed to anyone (unless your daughter tells someone herself of course) xx

Hi Kati, thank you. i am not referring to the payment but more on the incident. if it can be tracked through a CRB or financial record screening? I am worrying as she could lose her job!

Re: Employee screening RLP

No CRB (now DBS) check or criminal record screening will show this up as there are no records.
When you said "we paid" I assume you meant "we her parents paid" and it would be your bank account that showed the payment.
But enhanced financial checks as carried out for financial service companies check credit account info, number & type of credit accounts currently and previously operated and the number of credit applications in the past several months. It will also ensure there are no CCJ's. Unlikely to request a detailed look at your bank account.

There is no way the incident will show up on a crb check (even an enhanced one) either

As des8 has already said ... no police involvement = no record that can be used against your daughter! Even financial record screening wouldn't pick up on it xx

Yes as we have been told there are no CCJs, because we paid the requested fee on time and the case didnt go to County court. Right?
when i said 'we paid' i meant us but no, she paid with her card.

no court case = no County Court Judgement
None in the past presumably?
