  • Not as simple as it sounds regards neighbour

We moved into a very clicky road about 8 years ago, me, my wife and my 4 children we've had a good rapport with just about everybody and fitted in well...

We became close to our joining neighbour as he/she was living on their own and they worked away for most of the first 5 years here but still we got close. Over the last 2 years though both me and my wife have become very worried over their actions, on a number of occasions we found them on our property but they gave a plausible reason as to why they were there, they have time on their hand and just wanted to clean things up.. strange but ok.. over further time more and more things occur, I was in the bath and my wife and children left to run an errand and they let them self in through the porch and into the kitchen shouted "hello, hello or for fcuk sake" and walked out I was in that much shock I couldn't speak nor did I ever bring it up again. One day we were just on our way out and they were on their drive, spoke to us as we left in our car as we pulled down and out of our road I had a strange feeling and thought things were not right, so I doubled back and low and behold they were on my drive, caught like a rabbit in the head lights ... when I got out and stated we had forgot something they jumped in a said funnily "Oh you caught me breaking in" (In jest) and went on to speak about a different topic not giving us time to think what to say regard what we have come home too.

After a short time my eldest child was poorly and we needed to run out so decided to leave them home not 10 minutes after leaving home we get a call to say they are on our drive trying the front door and calling the name of my eldest child... How on earth they knew they were home alone.. are we bugged !! watched!! even a drone flew over our house !! but back to what just happened, with anger I drove home asked what fully happened with my child got the story and went and confronted regards this incident, to my shock it was denied fully and said they must be mistaken, this coupled with a gift given a few months back of a skimpy clothing for said child (supposedly old and left in cupboard from previous wife) yet still with new tags and smell brand new with the original crease in...

Sorry for such a long post but please bare with me...

After all that we decided to get home CCTV and the very next day they were caught on camera entering my property and trying to gain access to my fully private garden. Now with many things we are thing and going on in our heads I laid a trap, I joined a social media site as a 12 now 13 year old (same age as my child) made contact with them regards a totally pointless issue and ever since it has snowballed. We have discovered this person is not what we thought but much worse!! the conversation has turned sinister and very sexual, in this conversation aside from the vile bits they have given a false age and wants to meet.

This person is of a very old age and I will inevitably cause his imprisonment if I let this out or even worse... I am no vigilante and do NOT want to cause his death or imprisonment but ...

    Please help...

If you're worried and/or have positive proof of this then you really need contact the police ... and show them everything you have (videos, Fb messages etc...). Your actions now will mean that the neighbour may not have a chance to follow through with any child!!

Also, just because you go to the police, there is not an 'automatic' prison sentence ... they would have to look at the evidence and decide on that basis what the right course of action would be.

You should immediately contact your local police force with copies of the conversations you have had with the person via social media. There's a fair bit in the press at the moment about this type of 'entrapment' ( for want of a better word) but it seems now the police should at least take your concerns seriously and investigate further. I would not recommend meeting or tipping the neighbour off at all until you have at least reported them and spoken to the police ( concerns about getting rid of evidence etc before police have been able to look into it)

You should also contact CEOP www.ceop.police.uk asap with your concerns and details of the platform you have been communicating with them on.

Has your child indiciated they have any particular concerns or worries over your neighbours behaviour towards them ?

Lets hope you are wrong xx

        Contact the police!

Your child's, and every other child in your area's safety comes first.

I can respect that you don't want to physically harm this person, but if you have any suspicion contact the police straight away! If your suspicions are wrong, you have good grounds for concern but you can apologise and keep away from them, if not you have just protected your child from God knows what fate!

You are a parent first and foremost and a good one at that!
