You say you were "charged"...... were you given a charge sheet?
Des8, the police arrived at the security room, we told our side of the story then the security told his, they then took our details and done a quick check to seen if we had been in bother before (which we hadn’t), they then checked our bags (they had already been searched by security) and then they said they were charging us. We were not issued a charge sheet. I’m not really sure what a caution is? The police just read us our rights then explained the charge, we accepted and that was that. We haven’t heard anything else from the police/PF since.

The police should be making a report to the procurator fiscal, and in view of your admission of guilt I guess it could be dealt with by way of a fiscal fine and no court appearance.

So keep ignoring those letters from RLP

Hi, just another update.

I received my third letter from RLP today (which I have attached to this)

They say that they can share my information within a closer group for employment screening? Is this allowed? Just worried incase this has an impact on my life in later years?

Will i I continue to ignore these letters?

As always I appreciate all the help.

Thanks

yep ... just ignore (I'm sure des8 would agree with me too )

Their 'database' is probably just a list on the office wall lol and cannot be passed on to a potential employer without YOUR consent anyway. Their threat about passing your details on to the police is empty too ... there's no way they'd do that especially after this length of time!!

Typical letter from RLP. all wind and p***
Lots of veiled threats, ifs and mights.
The police have already been involved, so what extra info do RLP have that they intend passing over.
A typical nonsense template letter from RLP which should be ignored like all their other rubbish

Me and my friend are 18 years old and we stupidly tried to take some things from Boots like makeup and probiotic but we took the wrapper off which makes it look suspicious. As we left the store we got caught by the security guard and dragged into the store. He took pictures of us, the items and our provisional driving licenses. He didn’t say much at all to us and seemed very pissed off. Then he told us to leave without calling the police but will the police be informed about it now?

We fully regret our decisions and are willing to pay for our consequences. However we are unsure of what these consequences will be. From what we have read online, we think that we will be sent a letter home for us to pay a fine but who will send this letter? Will it be the police or Boots? Also, what will the envelope look like because we don’t want our parents finding and opening it.

If anyone could help us with these details, we would be grateful.

The letter will probably be from RLP. Only the courts can issue fines, not some jumped up private company. Just ignore , there has been no loss. The last time RLP (and boots) tried court they were soundly wacked by the judge and haven't tried since.

And don't hijack someone else's thread as well as starting one of your own.
