  • Paying debt to apex for 35 years

Hi I defaulted on a bank account 11 years ago (around 5000and something) and I currently pay £15 a month to apex credit management. It is not on my credit file anymore but upon speaking to them I am going to be paying it for another 24 years. I can't afford to up the payments. Any suggestions on how to decrease the amount of years I have left to payvthe debt? And yes I do work part time but cannot afford to work more hours due to childcare costs.

    Many thanks in advance

    About Apex Credit Management

Apex Credit Management is a UK debt collector. We have information on these debt collectors and many others. They do business by buying debts from large financial institutions and then collect that money from consumers using a wide variety of tactics. All of these are of course legal, but you would be well advised to read the wording in any letters in great detail. I’ve seen thousands of these letters and they all contain conditional words which make you feel like major things are going to happen, when the truth is that in most cases they will do very little of the things which are threatened.

Do you have other debts as well?

      Are you buying or renting?

Is there anyone in your family that could help by making a full & final offer to settle the debt? They may well take £1000 as you are only paying £15 a month.

Of course child care costs don't go one forever (it just feels like it at the time!) so at some point you can increase your income I would hope.
