  • Debt letter received but not me.

Hi. Brother has just received a debt letter for Lowell financial group from shop direct. He's never had a catalogue of any kind prefers to pay for items no credit required. The surname on letter is not spelt correctly. He has only been living at my house for couple of months. Is this a scam?

It's not a scam, but the debt collector has found the wrong person... he needs to send a Prove It! letter, and he could add a sentence saying he has never shopped from a catalogue or online into it.
