  • Employer withdraws job offer

    Hi,

I got a job offer from a giant retail chain store almost two weeks ago, and accepted the offer verbally and registered with the staff portal. The store coordinator told me to attend an induction last week, and my first shift would be on the coming Sunday (22nd). Last week on the day of the induction (scheduled), I received a call from the staff saying they didn't have enough trainer and ought to reschedule the induction to next week (which is today). I got an email confirmed the re-scheduled induction and everything on the staff portal seemed fine. Today is the day for the induction, however, I have received a call this morning saying the induction is cancelled and at the same time the company won't need me anymore as they won't be busy for the coming months, so my position is being withdrawn. I would like to seek for advice and see if there's anything I could do to get some sort of "justice" treatment (besides staying positive and keep looking for jobs). I'm really shocked for their last minute notice, as I ought to turn down another job offer because I has accepted this job offer. (now I have no job!)
