  • Access to free legal advice for court procedural issues?

    Hello,

pretty much as the title says - im dealing with a discrimination issue, had Legal Aid, due to a technicality which I am appealing all of my legal support was stopped just before the court deadline, I had to serve based on previous advice and defendants are attempting to strike my case out. But no one appears to be able to offer me legal advice for stopping this process due to it being 'procedural' rather than discrimination. As I don't know if the defendants are correct I have no idea what to do. Is there no way to get interim legal advice to stop my case being struck out? CLA said no, Legal Aid said no, no time to apply to bar pro bono. Am I entitled to help at court for the inevitable hearing? or could anyone advise on quick options for advice on defendants claims? no local help available, no cab and local law centre only has apps for new year.

    Many Thanks

    Hi Rococo

    Have you tried contacting EHRC?

      Hi,

no I haven't tried them, to be honest I think it looks like the same catch 22, they can help with discrimination issues but everyone keeps now claiming that court process isn't covered and isn't Discrimination. I will give them a call but it feels like ive fallen between procedural rules for legal help. Does anyone know if I should be asking the court for relief from sanctions before any possible hearing or if I have to wait for a Judgement?

      Thanks
