  • Bank of Scotland Rejection, PPI was on cards had not shown any use.

Bank of Scotland have advised that that although the accounts have PPI, there was no balance on the cards and hence no PPI was paid.

Checking my credit record from an old Experian credit report from 2003, I see that two of the Halifax cards had a balance on them of over £4000. Has anyone else experienced this?

Can I reply with a copy of the Experian Credit report as evidence that there was indeed money held on two of the accounts?

I do not have the statements from Halifax as the cards where from 2001-2005.

Bank of Scotland (Halifax) are shocking. First the issued the PPI response to the address where my card was registered too in 2003, when I had written to them with my address included and now in the updated response they have referenced a Claim Management company Stanton Fisher LTD , I have no idea who they are.

Halifax accept that I had PPI however they say that no payments was made to the policy, how is that possible on a credit card when clearly I had outstanding credit on my cards?

Should I respond with my Experian Credit file?

I would be inclined to take the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.

You may need to get back bank statements to prove what payments you made to the card. The Ombudsman can help with getting these if you don't have them.

I will send a final letter to bank of Scotland, attaching my Experian file informing them I am not happy with the investigation as I clearly had PPI and also as I had amounts outstanding on my cards this would have been added to the payments and give them 14 days to respond. I will also ask them why they have put a claims management company on there response which I have never dealt with, sure its another bodge up from BOS.

            Simple question.

Did you ever pay any money into any of these accounts?

I have had another reply from Halifax, (Bank of Scotland) still upholding the complaint but stating as no payments was made,so no redress is due, I requested the SAR which never arrived and send a final warning letter with no reply, so have now escalated to FOS as it is not possible based on the balance of my credit cards and the fact they upheld the PPI that no payments have been made.
