    Hi everyone, not sure if on right topic but here goes! I have been paying a standing order for £10.00 to Blake Lapthorn since Jan this year. For the last 2 months they have been sending the payment back into my account, no explanation, nothing. I have contacted them, through email, as I don't wish to have them harassing me on the phone, but no reply as yet. The reason for my posting on here is because they have a charging order on my home. I was paying them through a DMC for 10 years but parted company with them just before xmas, a very long story. I am terrified they will act as if I'm not repaying them, but I cant understand why they would accept 4 months payments now start sending them back? any advice will be very gratefully received thank you, Tracey

    Send a letter "Recorded Delivery" to them, that way you will have proof of delivery to use if necessary

      or ring them in your case - keep a log of telephone calls i.e. time/date = content and response = Diary?

          Who are BL acting for??
          Who was the original creditor for this debt?

          It's possible that BL are no longer instructed in this matter, may be the debt has been sold on.

              Should they have contacted me? I am worried sick to be honest. I have just emailed BlakeLapthorn again. The original debt was with Arrow, all my letters from BL are very vague, to say the least!! Tracey

                    It is being paid for a HSBC student bank account which I got into arrears with when I was diagnosed with MS & could not carry on working. Arrow 1st bought the debt & then it was passed to BL. My DMC were paying them on my behalf, but I am now managing my debt without them. BL applied for the CO when I was struggling to pay into my DMC. I had to negotiate a reduced payment in the end, my husband is my carer, so money is not readily available. The original debt was for 3500, it now stands at 6000 due to court costs etc

                      I do have a ref number, but if there is a CO in place they will have the original documents wont they?

                        This one stinks HSBC and charges, owe more than original. get Nem to pop in here something not right here especially the criminals at HSBC so called solicitors etc

                          Not very impressed with HSBC, they passed the debt extremely quickly to be honest. I am not deviating from the fact I did run the debt up, just don't want to be at loggerheads with BL, they are very nasty! Thanks Mike

                            No need to tell me about HSBC they are the pits in more than one respect and devious to say the least! personal experience Not finished with them yet!
