Dear all..I have another old debt that is showing on my credit file. The default will fall off in 3 months but my concern is it moved around numerous DCA's after the bank sold it (Natwest overdraft) I've no idea where it is and am concerned that since moving a million times, that the latest DCA'S won't have my new address and could issue a claim without my knowledge therfore I won't be able to defend it. Any advice at all? My credit file will be really good early next year and the last thing i want is it messing up with the one thing that possibly could.
How to find where an old debt is?

It just says current account natwest...i don't recall ever having a NOA but am sure various DCA'S have tried to collect it.
I've wrote to natwest today as they mis sold me an advantage gold account in 2002 until 2008..im hoping if something comes back from it I can offer to pay off what is owed to them should I need to. This may make them find me if it is still with them for some reason perhaps.

Looks like NW may still have the account then not sold just assigned for collection/management maybe.

I did find some paper work which showed paying iqor a certain amount years ago. But like you say they could have just got someone to chase debt rather than have sold it.

Now they have a current address perhaps you will get begging letters.
Just a couple of months or so until the account is removed from credit files which wont be affected by anything they do but this does not necessarily mean the debt is statute barred.
The start of the relevant 6b year period for current account/OD is when the bank demands immediate repayment of all outstanding amounts / Final Demand do you know when this happened.

All I can see from credit file is Feb 2010 the number 1 then March to August says letters AP then Sept the letter D which I'm assuming means default. Not sure about final demand. I also paid a few times to DCA'S so I don't think it is SB anytime soon.
