  • Imminent bailiff action re CSA Liability Order

Hello there Beagles. I have just had a conversation with a lady, hmmph, from the DWP regarding their forthcoming application for a liability order against myself for some arrears (that have accrued whilst paying other arrears off) in a CSA case about my first child from a former marriage. There are many reasons as to why I'm in "arrears", I will not bore you with the details, but essentially the demands of the CSA are ridiculously high and I do not have anywhere near enough income to satisfy them, so a liability order (3rd time) is being applied for. I am therefore anticipating the use of bailiffs being commissioned and am wondering what exactly they can do to me? What goods can they remove, or not remove? Do they have to accept my offer of payment? I HAVE MADE A COMPLETELY REASONABLE OFFER BASED ON MY CIRCUMSTANCES. If they cannot satisfy the "debt" through taking goods what is the likely hood of a) A prison sentence, b) a driving license suspension, c) taking away my passport? My daughter in question lives approximately 200 miles from me and I have maintained her right to a full family life by making the 800 miles round trip, never her mother and with no recognition from the CSA to the costs involved. This has been going on for 11 years now. HELP

Re: Imminent bailiff action re CSA Liability Order

Where did you hear about A, B and C happening to you? I've never heard of anything like that going down with a CSA issue. You'll never get the CSA to listen to a word of your concerns so I'd maybe think of looking to NACSA for advice.

I believe A B and C are only for those who won't pay (not those who can't)
Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

According to the "nice" lady from DWP that's some of the options available to them.
