  • Won't sign letter changing executor of will

My father died approx. 1 month ago. He named my brother as executor of his will, and named myself, my two sisters, my brother and my step-sister as heirs. My brother lives out of the country and will not be able to perform his duties as executor. We went to an attorney and he drew up a form for all of us to sign which legally changes the executor to my oldest sister. My other sister was not present, but agreed to the change via telephone. We have sent her the form to sign her agreement but for some reason she now will not sign. There is a large amount of debt left by my father and we are trying to move as quickly as possible in order not to accrue any more debt. Is there a way to compel her to sign, or override her? My father lived in GA and the probate court in that state is handling it.

Hi and Welcome, and while I am sorry to hear of your situation I think you might have come to the wrong place for advice.
This is a UK based forum, but I believe you are based in USA, and it is unlikely that you will obtain worthwhile guidance.
    However I wish you well.
