  • MET parking services advice

    Hi,
I'm an new to this site and hopefully someone will be kind enough to give me some much needed advice.
today I was issued a MET parking charge notice. On the notice it's says my car was seen at McDonald's at 12:03 to 12:04 stating from the options on the notice that 1) the vehicle was parked without authorisation and 2) the vehicles driver was not on the premises at the time of surgery.
as far as I can gather this is a period of 1 minute. So the parking attendant has made the assumption that I was not going to McDonald's all in under a minute? Am I correct in thinking this? This is all very new to me, I have never been in hug is situation, I am curious as to whether I should contact MET parking to appeal it?
I have to be honest and say I did not visit the McDonald's, however from the ticket, to me it's irrelevant as he'd already issued it after being there 1 minute? Does this make sense?
I would be grateful for any advice you may have and thank you in advance.

Typical moron giving out tickets to justify his job.
Obviously do not pay the charge.
Someone will be along soon to advise you.
    Don't worry.......

      Hey
Thanks for replying..it's amazing that in under a minute this guy has seen me park, write out a ticket that he didn't even sign even though it clearly asks for their signature and got it to my windscreen, I probably wasn't even out of eye shot by the time he'd done this...also I've just notice that the notice itself asks me to refer overleaf to carry out payment process...the back is blank!!!! My god what cowboys!!

Appeal and if required appeal to popla.

        Dear sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver did not see any signs and in any event your charges are penal and not a genuine pre estimate of loss.

I am under no statutory obligation to name the driver and will not do so.

Should you reject my challenge please supply a popla code.

        Yours etc

Then appeal such as http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...-Appeal-Letter or http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...-Appeal-Letter . You will need to remove any section on anpr as yours was a windscreen ticket.

It does work http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...pany-victories (hasn't been updated with many later wins but there is little change in results)

Thank you, I'm not the registered keeper, my partner is, should I await a letter for him first? Or should I contact them direct myself, and argue my point over the phone? Then put in writing?

Waiting is good as it gives a safety net if things don't go as planned even if that's unlikely. Don't waste time on the phone. Keep it in writing (electronic writing is free )

If the ticket is not signed and the back is blank, it is not a valid ticket.

In ppc land they think everything is a proper ticket. There is no legislation prescribing how a ticket should be with the exception of PoFA but that's only so a RK can be held liable if the conditions are met.

The whole issue of the validity of any ppc ticket is very much questionable in whatever format it comes in.

Ok so I'll wait to see if Paul get the letter as the RK? I'm sorry if I appear dumb, I'm really out on a limb here, thank you for being patient with me

M1 - should I email them tomorrow instead of waiting to hear from them? If so argue my point that way and ask to appeal it? Thank you so much for this!

It's better to wait and send a letter as the registered keeper as they won't know who was driving.

You're not really arguing just utilising the system to your advantage.

Me again, I've woken up this morning really upset about it all. I'm 7 mths pregnant and hate this stress it's brought me. I keep thinking to pay it and have done with it but I know I'll be more annoyed with myself for paying it. These companies are scum bags

It's easy to beat them if you stick to the plan. 2 letters and you win :okay:

Ok, so just to clarify. I am to wait to hear from them via post? This will be for Paul who is the registered keeper. Then I send the letter you sent me but remove bits that aren't relevant to my situation?
