  • online slot site not paying me winnings

:tinysmile_cry_t: I joined an online slot site, deposited and won quite a large amount, and now they wont pay me.

They have requested photo id and other forms of id. I sent a scan of my bank card and a utility bill but then the trouble began. I have no driving license or passport. They have refused to take any other kind of identification. They advised a Identification card until i pointed out we have no such thing, this really seemed to p**s them off as they have now suspended my account for "suspicious" activity??

I cannot use a provisional license, I cannot apply for a full license. A passport would cost around 200.00 for me to obtain due to having to get copies of birth certificates etc.

Can they legally refuse to take any other for of ID?

What forms of ID did you use to open your bank account to which the debit card belongs?

Which site is it? I can check their T&C's
Any opinions I give are my own. Any advice I give is without liability. If you are unsure, please seek qualified legal advice.

I think the attached is the relevant bit of the T&C's and I bow to others for the legal definition of 'in its sole discretion ....'

As they are registered in the Isle of Man you might have problems trying to prove your case (if you have one).
The Isle of Man is a separate jurisdiction to the United Kingdom and as a result has its own legal system. Manx law has developed to fit the Isle of Man's own needs and circumstances, particularly in relation to tax, company law and financial supervision issues. The main sources of Manx law are based on the Acts of Tynwald and their subsidiary legislation.

For the sake of my blood pressure i may just leave the money and forget it but on the other hand why let them get away with it. I use lots of other sites and have never had a problem. :tinysmile_cry_t: What really annoys me is on the website on facebook i can actually see the little twit who just keeps sending me replies to get photo Id.

Why won't they accept a provisional driving licence? That's bizarre if they accept a full one.

I think they just keep moving the goal posts to be honest, I did have an email from a woman on the site who seemed reasonable and she mentioned other methods, but she has not been back on and i have to deal with mark with issues it seems:tinysmile_hmm_t2:
I suggested a birth certificate and got laughed at. Citizen card is not valid either.

It's a bit odd, but quite a few outfits won't accept a provisional licence.

Hi xxsoloxx. This is Greg from Slotser. I'm sorry you're having a bad experience and I'd like to help you resolve this. You will need a valid UK identification in order to continue, I do recommend the passport route which should only run you £95 including birth certificates. I can even throw an extra £50 on top of the withdrawal if you do go the path of issuing your passport, half/half.

                          To help get you going:

                          Copies of birth certificates £10
                          https://www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-...ge-certificate

                          Passport application £85
                          https://www.gov.uk/passport-fees

You can also find our license information at http://www.gov.im/gambling/licensees/ (ctrl+f slotser).

You can email me directly at gregory@everadventure.com or pm me here.

:tinysmile_aha_t:So i have to appl;y for a passport, it just seems crazy, I must play on at least 7 other sites and make regular withdrawals and have never had to provide identification. .
I will look into getting a passport but it may not be so simple as I have had a previous passport many moons ago but have divorced since then so may involve yet more documents. I have never known such a difficult site, the banks dont require passport evidence, I have a paypal account again verified without a passport.

xxsoloxx, I think the offer of assistance is quite good, many thanks to Greg for coming onto the site.

I have verified that Greg does indeed work for EverAdventure and is able to assist you.

I must point out that the online gambling industry suffers very much from fraudsters and as such do need to have stringent ID measures as part of their role against Anti Money Laundering regs. Online gambling is one of the biggest ways to launder dirty money, however, as Greg has offered assistance it also shows that they will go the extra mile to do what they can for genuine gamblers.

My own opinion, a resolution to your problem has been given, it will cost you approx £50, but in return you will be entitled to your winnings of £700
