  • Cabot and Barclays (old Woolwich) Overdraft

    Advice needed please.

Sent PROVE IT letter to Cabot in the form prescribed on http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...9479#post59479

Now received following reply from them as follows:-

"You have explained that you have no knowledge any such debt owed to Barclays. You have advised that you are aware of the Office of Fair Trading guidelines and have requested evidence of your liability.

The account opposite is a Barclays joint current account which was opened on 30/08/2002 and did not default until 09/02/2008 with a default balance of £2256.28. The last payment they received was made on 5 August 2008.

Cabot purchased this account on 8 April 2011 and the current outstanding balance is £2295.96.

As a gesture of goodwill we will keep the account on hold for 21 days with our Customer Care Department. Please contact us to advise the exact nature of your dispute and the evidence you require. If we do not receive a response within this timeframe we will have no option but to return this account to our Customer Operations Dept"

Could you point me in the right direction as to how I should respond as I know Overdrafts are not strictly covered by CCA and therefore the template letters do not apply.

    Kind Regards.
