  • Kensington & GE-Money

    Hi there,
Hope this is the right place to post this.
We have recently settled our accounts with Kensington & GE-Money, over the past 3 yrs or so they have charged us monthly arrears fees. Kensington £50 & GE-Money £40 per month. my question is, can these be claimed bk?
Any help & advise will be most appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Brecken.

Sorry this post has not been answered before now but, Yes, you can claim back the fees and charges.

Send a SAR and make sure they send you a full statement of account including a breakdown of all fees and charges and the interest added in respect of those fees.

Once you know how much they have charged you, you can then make a claim to get them back on the grounds that they are unfair, excessive and disproportionate to any actual cost of managing your account and should be repaid in full or substantially reduced.

If they refuse then refer it to the FOS.

                22) The Mortgage Lender (TML)

                • The Mortgage Lender specialised in providing mortgages to customers who could not prove their income and in remortgages in order to release cash from your home. TML was also known as TML Financial Solutions Ltd. and was backed by the Kensington Group plc which was Investec owned. The Kensington Group purchased TML in 2002 for £25m.
                • At its peak, TML lent in excess of £60m/month.
                • TML went into administration in December 2007. Resolve Mortgages has purchased the intellectual property rights and customer data base.

And had BDS Mortgages Ltd as a name in the small print and shared the same address as guess who? TML.
Now appear to have ceased trading as I have tried to contact by e mail ( bounced back) and phone ( not in service)
Invesrec, at the start of February, has announced the intention of " selling" Kensington due to " not performing as they had hoped and the world wide credit crunch" .
Cannot post up links on this device, sorry.

How were they expecting it to perform?

Maybe we should ask them. They also share the offices in Reading.
