  • Credit default on a statute barred debt.

    Hi,

Sorry to bother you. I have just received a 'verification letter' from Buchanan Clark & Wells. I checked my credit report & Barclays have just 'defaulted' a debt of mine concerning a £1900 overdraft from a bank account that (a) I did not know existed and (b) is associated with an address I lived at over ten years ago. I have drafted a letter to Barclays asking them to wipe the default on the grounds that (a) this is probably fraudulent and (b) it is probably over ten years old.

My question is: should I also write to BCW? Or should I ignore their letters?

    Thank you for your help

    Joe

And whose name is the default listed under? Barclays or BCW?
