  • TonyB - v - Natwest Credit Card ***SETTLED***

Finding myself with nothing to do (apart from all the usual crap stuff like housework and ironing, paid employment, taxi service for the kids etc) I have decided its about time we got some charges back from hubby's Natwest credit card. Limit 400, current balance 518, extra(and more) made up entirely of charges as hasn't used it for ages. Charges will be at least 100 quid i should imagine.

Have just typed out SAR for him to sign so will send that off tomorrow and get the ball rolling.

He has agreed a repayment plan of £30.00 per month in the meantime. No default issued.

Although they have agreed not to put on any more late/overlimit fees, they have said interest will continue to accrue. Any way I can stop this? Is it worth sending a letter to put the account into dispute?

    Thanks

    Wendy x

Re: TonyB - v - Natwest Credit Card

After only 12 days I have now received a list of charges on for Natwest credit Card. And its just that - a list of charges, thoughtfully produced in a nice table with months down the side and years across the top, each year/month split into late and overlimit fees, totalled up at the bottom, then with a column on the end showing total overlimit fees and total late fees. How considerate of Natwest is that

Only thing is, there's no actual dates of the month, just the month. So, if this ever gets to court, should I use the month end dates, therefore giving them the benefit? I know this would make a difference to schedule as well, but am not intending to go for CI on this one, just want to get the charges back asap - this would clear his balance all but a few quid.

Dont think the day matters Wendy as the spread sheet takes its figures from the beginning of the month.
Cap1 did their list of charges like that, long as you are happy they are all there then it's fine.

Yes, they're all there. Think I might just do a copy of their table and send it back to them with a Prelim letter.

Re: TonyB - v - Natwest Credit Card

Have finally got Prelim done, all signed by OH, copy of schedule (also signed) and a copy of their list of charges attached, just to show thta my schedule mathces it exactly. Going off to Post Office later to send off recorded delivery, along with a couple of "leave me alone until you can prove the debt" letters to DCA's.
Not sure what Natwest's usual gameplan is with Credit Cards - anyone any idea?

Re: TonyB - v - Natwest Credit Card

Had letter from Nutwest, blah blah, gesture of goodwill..offering a paltry amount of difference between £20 charges and £12 charges. I don't think so! Am gonna send Partial acceptance/LBA combined.

Does anyone know if Natwest go to the wire on Credit Card claims???

Re: TonyB - v - Natwest Credit Card

I don't know Wendy TBH, all I can suggest is you carry on as normal with it and then see how you go on at court stage. I think other cards have been putting their foot down with CI claims and offering charges plus 8% and costs.
Then it's up to your particular court as to wether it gets stayed or not, even though we all know it shouldn't be.
Hope you and yours are all well Enaid xx

Yep we're all fine, horseshow yesterday, Jess had two falls (one very spectacular - will expand in the Lamp Post)

Not going for CI on this one. Too much hassle. Will just send letter and see what happens.

                              Wendy

Apart from a duplication in the 2nd line I think it's ok, i would take out
I will accept in partial settlement only your offer of £103.68 as the £12 mentioned in your letter has been set by the Office of Fair Trading
I accept this partial settlement as the £12 mentioned....blah blah, only a minor change but just gets rid of the duplication, the rest seesm fine.
