  • Lowell and old 3 mobile account

Hi, I'm looking for some help please

I had a 3 mobile contract in 2014 and it was ok for 4 months then I was unable to get any connection as the network was down in my area, this was the case for 3 months and after several complaints they agreed to cancel my contract with no charges as I was paying for a service which I cudnt use. I've heard nothing from three and received a letter from Lowel last month for £90.61. I contacted them to be told I owed the money and when I explained my situation they raised a disputed with them and put my account on hold for 14 days. I've received another letter today saying the money needs paying, I've called them again to be told they received a response from three to say the money owed was for airtime, I asked them to explain what they mean by airtime and they cudnt. I was told to ring 3 which I did and they basically told me the account is a old account so they can only access certain information, they asked my account was terminated in 2014 and they removed the contract charges as it was agreed due to having no signal due to network issues. I asked if she can send me this in wiring or email and she said there system won't allow them to as it's a old account

called lowel back to advise and they are just saying I have to pay.

    Please help

    thank you

Re: Lowell and old 3 mobile account

Hi, ok you need to contact 3 and advise them that under the sale of Goods and Services Act they have a responsibilty to ensure that you have no repercussions from lack of service.

They CAN send out proof of no charge, ask for an updated bill showing the zero charges, remind them that under Data Protection Act they are obliged to provide accurate and up to date information, REGARDLESS of whoever now holds the debt. They can also recall the debt if there is no balance to pay, if they cannot ask to be transfered to their collections dept.

Speak to Lowell and advise them you are going to insist on a zero balanced bill and ask them to return the debt to 3 as this is now satisfied.
